What is Kinesiology?

This is a very common question and is notoriously difficult to answer in one sentence!

The word kinesiology comes from the Greek word, 'Kinesis' which means motion.

Kinesiology is a well-being therapy.  We do not diagnose disease or treat conditions.  We work at re-balancing the body to enable the natural healing processes to flourish.

The world around us is full of experts who all seem to have conflicting advice on lifestyle, nutrition hacks, 'allergies', mental well being techniques,  exercise regimes, insulin resistance etc the list goes on.

It's very confusing and very difficult to work out what works best for you.

Via muscle testing, kinesiology will pinpoint exactly which supplements your body wants, even down to which brand.  This is much more cost effective than simply giving one brand a go and then trying another one.  Why guess if you don't need to?

We can also test for food sensitivities, so you can see precisely which foods are giving you issues. 

It is truly holistic, working with the inter play between blood sugars, hormones, emotional and environmental stressors.

The balancing techniques used can include firm acupressure massage, nutritional supplements, lifestyle recommendations, gentle structural realignments, food intolerance testing, Bach flower remedies and emotional tools.

Your first appointment (£65)

Lasts around 1.5 to 2 hours

Before you arrive, I will email you a consent form plus a short health questionnaire for you to complete.

We will then go through your health issues at the first appointment before we start the session.

Regular sessions (£60)

Last about 1 hour to 1 hour 15 mins.

About Me

My name is Lucinda Bilton.

It’s not an understatement to say that Kinesiology changed my life, both in terms of my health and my career.

I absolutely love kinesiology and believe it can help everybody’s body in some way. 

Back in the year 2000, I suffered from stomachache every afternoon and had no idea why.  On top of that I used to sneeze violently, often continuously for hours.  It was often so dramatic I was unable to speak or even drive a car.  I honestly thought I had become 'allergic to life'.  One day when walking past an Allergy Clinic, I made an appointment.  I was recommended to see a Kinesiologist.  After just two sessions, I asked the practitioner ‘what is this?’ and ‘where can I learn to do it too?’.

By 2004 I had qualified with the Association of Systematic Kinesiology to Practitioner Diploma level.

In 2024, I decided to study with the College of Functional Wellness and in 2025, I again qualified as a practitioner, this time in Functional Kinesiology.

In addition, I have a BA Honours degree and speak good German and Spanish.  I have spent eight years of my adult life abroad working and studying in Germany, Spain, Japan and USA.

I live in East Sussex with my husband, three daughters and two dogs.

In my spare time, I enjoy sea swimming, yoga, weight training and walking my dogs.

My practice is fully insured and I have qualified in Anatomy & Physiology.

How many sessions will I need?

This varies greatly.  Some people feel great improvements in their general well-being after just a few sessions.  Other people like to have regular sessions as 'maintenance'.  Just as we maintain our vehicles and homes, I believe we need to maintain our health and well-being.

My own journey was that I turned up for a 'one-off' appointment and 25 years later, I still choose to have regular kinesiology balances to keep me feeling my best.
